Description
Ionization detectors use a sealed Americium-241 source to ionize air within dual chambers. When smoke particles from fast-flaming fires enter, they disrupt the ion flow and trigger an alarm.
These detectors respond very quickly to high-energy fires involving gases, solvents, or petrol, making them suitable for chemical storage and fuel-handling areas.
The source is extremely small and fully shielded, and units are AERB-approved for safe use in India. Proper placement away from strong air drafts helps maintain sensitivity and avoid nuisance conditions.
