Medium-Velocity Water Spray Nozzle

Medium-velocity spray nozzles are open (non-automatic) nozzles used in deluge water spray systems. When a deluge valve opens, the nozzles discharge a wide cone pattern to cool equipment and suppress flames.

They are used for transformers, switchyards, LPG storage, chemical vessels, and tank farms where rapid cooling and total-area application is required. K-factors are significantly larger than standard sprinklers to deliver high flow rates.

Designs follow NFPA 15 for water spray systems and typically require strainers upstream to protect nozzles from debris.
